Is Nova Southeastern University Law accredited by the ABA?
Nova Southeastern University Law Center is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.

What are the education requirements to apply to Nova Southeastern University Law?
Students entering the Law Center must have either (1) an undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution, or (2) an undergraduate degree from a foreign institution that the Admissions Committee believes provides an adequate educational foundation for the study of law. There are no prerequisite courses required.

What should my undergraduate major be?
There is no prescribed pre-legal undergraduate course of study. However, a pre-law student should consider courses that are challenging and help develop the ability to analyze issues; require the student to express thoughts clearly; and foster creative thought.

What is the LSAT/LSDAS?
Applicants for admission are required to submit a score report from the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). The LSAT must have been taken within the last five years. To register for the LSAT, applicants must contact the Law School Admissions Council at (215) 968-1001 or www.lsac.org. In addition to registering for the LSAT, applicants must also register with the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS). The LSDAS requires applicants to submit official transcripts for all coursework completed towards the undergraduate degree. All transcripts are then scanned and attached to the student's LSDAS report. Note: applicants who have earned their undergraduate degree outside of the United States are not required to register with the LSDAS but should have their transcripts translated and evaluated by an international educational evaluation service.

Are there prep courses for the LSAT?
There are a variety of preparation options for the LSAT. Applicants should consider all options in determining what works best individually. The Law School Admissions Council offers previously administered exams as practice tests and computer software tutorials. Also, applicants should consider private companies offering prep courses. These companies can be found in the yellow pages under educational tutors.

What LSAT score is required for admission? What is the median?
The LSAT score range is 120 - 180. There is not a minimum score requirement for admission. The admissions committee is generally looking for average to above average performance on the LSAT. The median LSAT score for the current first year class was 152.

How many letters of recommendation will you review?
The admissions committee will consider two letters of recommendation and prefers these letters be forwarded directly to LSAC to be compiled with the student's LSDAS report.

What is the deadline for application submission?
Applicants are encouraged to submit applications as early as possible. The final application deadline is March 1 of the application year, e.g., March 1, 2006 for Fall 2006 admission.

First-year students are admitted once per year for the Fall semester. The first year incoming class is generally around 330 students. Does Nova Southeastern University Law offer any provisional admission to incoming students?
The Alternative Admissions Model Program in Legal Education (AAMPLE) permits applicants who otherwise would not be granted admission to compete for admission by taking two courses between May and June. The courses, scheduled during the day only, are taught by experienced full-time faculty members. Participants in the AAMPLE program are admitted to the Fall class based on a required cumulative grade point average of at least a 2.50 and neither grade is below a “C”. AAMPLE is available by invitation only on-campus or online.

What specialization degrees does Nova Southeastern University Law offer? Does Nova Southeastern University Law offer an LLM degree program?

Nova Southeastern University Law does not currently offer an LLM program.

Does Nova Southeastern University Law offer any joint degree programs?
The Law Center offers joint degrees with the Nova Southeastern University School of Business and Nova Southeastern University Center for Computer and Information Sciences. The Law Center also offers a joint degree with FAU Department of Urban and Regional Planning. Students can earn their J. D. and Master's degree simultaneously by participating in these programs. Applicants who are interested in participating in the joint degree program are required to apply to both programs simultaneously and must be accepted into both programs. Once accepted into both programs the student will need to inform the law center student services office that he/she is participating in the joint degree program. The students first year will be strictly law classes; the second and third year will be a combination of the two programs.

Does Nova Southeastern University Law offer students the option of taking courses online?
While the Law Center does not offer students the option to earn their degree online, some upper level courses are available online. AAMPLE is available online.

How do I apply for the AAMPLE program?
Our summer conditional program, AAMPLE, is by invitation only. You will be considered for the program based on your submission of a JD application. You cannot apply for the AAMPLE program.
