How do I renew a library book online?
To renew a library book online, you will need to access your patron account, via NOVACAT.
Your University ID number is the N# assigned to you by NSU. Once you have filled in the required information, click on the SUBMIT button. If you do not know you University ID click here.
The following screen will display your account. In the bottom left corner will be a message stating how many items you currently have checked-out. Click on this text to view the items on your account. Your record will expand, and a complete list of the items currently checked-out to you will appear below. To the right of each entry will be a check box. Click on the check box associated
with the item you wish to renew, then click on the RENEW SELECTED ITEMS button. If you are renewing all materials currently checked out to you, simply click on the RENEW ALL button. Once you click on RENEW, the page will refresh, and the new due date for the materials you renewed will display within the STATUS column within
your account record.
I am receiving an error message when I try to renew an item. Why can’t I renew the item?
If the item you are trying to renew has been renewed recently, the message TOO SOON TO RENEW will appear within the STATUS column of the item record, along with the original due date. You will not be able to renew the item if the item has been renewed recently. Materials that cannot be renewed online must be renewed at the Circulation Desk, within the Shepard
Broad Law Library.
If the item you are trying to renew has been renewed previously online, the message TOO MANY RENEWALS will appear within the STATUS column of the item record, along with the original due date. This item cannot be renewed online, by phone, or in person. |
