Mitchell Silverman is Reference and Patron Services Librarian at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center Law Library and Technology Center, where he has worked since 2009. He has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2000.

While at the Florida State University College of Law, Mitchell practiced as a Certified Legal Intern at the Children's Advocacy Clinic, and became a Florida Supreme Court-certified County Court Mediator. After practicing several different areas of law from 2000-2006, Mitchell returned to school at the Florida State University College of Information, where he received his Master of Science degree in Library and Information Studies in 2008, with a concentration in Reference and Instruction.

Mitchell's passions at work are helping people with reference questions and working with faculty, students, and practitioners. His professional interests include legal ethics research and practice, including attorney admission and discipline; practice-oriented Florida legal research; LGBTQ issues in the law; technology and its social implications on legal academics and practice; Jewish law; and qualitative research methods.
