BAHLC, originally called the South Florida
Bioethics/Health Law Working Group, began in 1997, when four
academics met and decided that it would be worthwhile to create
an organization within which academics and professionals would
meet and discuss bioethical matters and legal issues relating
to the health care system.

Monthly meetings during each academic year beginning
in January, 1997, have often resulted in publications and presentations

Founders

BAHLC members meet once a month during the
academic year, alternating between Nova Southeastern University’s
Shepard Broad Law Center (NSU) and the University of Miami
School of Law (UM).

Participating Schools
Participating Schools are those that support BAHLC financially
or otherwise, for example by providing meeting space or other
services.
