| History Since 1997, through this group, medical caregivers, social
workers and lawyers have discussed current issues of interest with professors
of law, medicine philosophy, public health, psychology and other health
care specialties.Today the group includes professors of law, various medical
disciplines, education and philosophy; graduate and professional students;
medical professionals such as doctors, nurses, social workers, optometrists
and pharmacists; and practicing attorneys. Members hail from Broward,
Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties in South Florida. Currently, the group is meeting on an irregular schedule, when special projects arise. It used to meet once a month during the academic year, alternately in Coral Gables, FL (at the University of Miami School of Law) and Davie, FL (at Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad Law Center).
